NIEKTORÉ PARALELY RO¼NÍCKYCH ÈIPIEK V HONTE
(Príspevok ku kultúrnohistorickému obrazu)

Slovakia
Systematic interest in peasant lace in the region of Hont began in the 19th century. Since older written sources do not mention it, its genesis before the 19th century can be traced only on the basis of the motifs and techniques for producing individual types of lace. Expert works derive the origin of peasant bobbin-lace in Hont, from the lace making traditions of the mining settlements of central Slovakia. The author of the paper traces the parallels in the selected group of motifs from Hont lace with motifs from bobbin-lace and other types of textile (lace in general, fabrics, embroidery) from other parts of Slovakia and various European countries in different periods. On the basis of identified common features and similarities, an attempt is made to reconstruct the beginnings and influences affecting the development of peasant bobbin-lace in Hont.

TANCE A TANEÈNÉ PRÍLEŽITOSTI V TRADIÈNEJ SLOVENSKEJ SVADBE
PhDr. Stanislav Dúžek, CSc.,

From the point of view of the endurance and continuation of the Slovak dance tradition, the wedding is a key event. Dance, and also song, music and other expressions of folk art have as rich a representation and variety here, as at any other traditional or present day occasion. The following paper, presented at the 24th ethno-musicological seminar in Bratislava in 1996, deals with this still inadequately researched problem. It is part of the grant supported project VEGA r.no.2-303596, the wedding as a syncretic artistic form.

The paper is concerned with the function of wedding instrumental music, the song repertoire and its interpretation in three culminating moments of the traditional Slovak wedding, i.e. during taking off the wedding garland or veil and putting the hat on the newly married woman, during the dances of the grooms men and during the solo dance of the bride or the young couple.
